The Fine Print
*If the number of rowers in each flight does not fill a sufficient number of ergs, it is
possible and likely that more than one event will be conducted at the same time.
Races with heats are seeded based on the submitted 2k erg score. Slower scores are in
the 1st heat.…hope you told the truth! And if you didn’t provide a score, you went where
the registrar felt like putting you.
To keep it as uncomplicated as possible, the age brackets for Jr events are your age on
race day.
Hampton Roads Erg Pull Rules
- New Concept II® Model D ergometer will be used. You may use the damper setting of your choice, but the setting may not be changed during the race. Warm up Ergs will be available for all participants.
- Rowers will compete as a group. Participants will be seeded, based upon erg scores submitted on the entry form, so that each rower will compete against other rowers of comparable abilities. The best time out of all heats will win each event.
- All races are 2,000 meters except as noted on the schedule above.
- All events are finals. Qualified participants are allowed entries in multiple events.
- The Team Challenge events are set up the day of the event so no pre-registration is required. If an entrant has already paid for an individual entry, then no entry fee is required for the Team Challenge events.
- The Concept II® PM2 Software will be used to establish the winners in each event. These scores will be checked against each ergometer monitor following each race. In the event of a discrepancy between the monitor and the software, the officiating USRA Judge/Referee will make the final determination.
- ERG Scores: Everyone must submit their most recent 2,000-meter ergometer score. Be honest . . . or you’ll be sorry!
- Waivers must be submitted for each participant. Team participants can submit copies of their team waivers.
- Master’s events will be using the USRA handicap formula.
